I bought this in my second year of Speech and Language Therapy after borrowing it several times from the library. It is such a comprehensive book with contributions from so many experts, plus it is easy to read! I would recommend this to SLT students in all years and even practising SLT's. If you want to use it as a quick reference it contains great tables such as typical and atypical speech processes, and red flags to be aware of when taking a case history. All in all a fantastic book that was great value for money.

I haven't yet finished reading this book, but it is a great compendium of speech sound research, therapy and personalised experiences from Therapists.

I've been using this book for over a year as a speech therapy student and it has never let me down.
I've also spoken to some practising clinicians who work in the field and they say its like their bible!
Useful for differential diagnosis and approaches to management - explains everything succinctly and easy to read as well as giving practical examples.
Caroline Bowen is well known in this area of expertise and backs everything up with an evidence base (as all therapists have to do in this day and age!)
This book is modern in its approach and I would recommend it to any student or clinician out there.
