It is a good story but I am only giving it three stars because it is short and keeps saying the same things over and over. I quite liked the monster.

1.0 out of 5 stars No sense of rhyme nor rhythm 12 Feb. 2014
    By PenGirl
    Format:Kindle Edition
This just doesn't scan. At all. If you let your little one grow up thinking that this is all there is to 'rhyming' stories, you are doing them a grave disservice. Please - look for something with talent and heart instead! There are a million better books out there.

5.0 out of 5 stars With a Little Help from his Friends. 21 Jun. 2013
By Jack Dalton - Published on Amazon.com
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
We follow a young monster from his first ballet class to his celebrated success at his first recital. That he is willing to work hard is evident. But just as clear is his fragile and endearing insecurity when it comes to trying something new. Old friends and new encourage him every step of the way, by getting him to follow through on coming to class, ignoring his occasional mistakes at the studio, and acknowledging his progress.

The verses are clear, and easy to read aloud to a young child. Delightful illustrations help to move the story along. This very short book contains lessons about courage, perseverance, friendship, and so much more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for boys. 12 Sept. 2014
By Kindle Customer - Published on Amazon.com

This book would be very inspirational for young boys who want to do things that are considered "girly". I have a little boy he does what he wants and doesn't care what any one thinks and if I were to run into an issue of embarrassment due to wanting him wanting to try "girly" things. this book will most definitely come in handy. It is also a good book for just because situations or getting over shyness in any situation. I LOVE that it included farting!

5.0 out of 5 stars An Adorable Story 23 Jun. 2013
    By 2acres - Published on Amazon.com
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This story is adorable for young kids! It has beautiful illustrations of a silly monster that does not want to try something new along with a fantastic lesson. For kids that have trouble sitting still through a story, try this one out! The illustrations alone are sure to keep them intrigued. The monster is silly looking, making kids giggle through the entire book. While listening, they will learn the valuable lesson of never giving up. That's a lesson that can never be taught too much!

5.0 out of 5 stars Little Dancing Monsters Anyone? 23 Jun. 2013
By Amy Truesdale - Published on Amazon.com
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I absolutely loved Kally Mayer's other Monster books and this one is just as good if not better. I love the lesson of teaching kids to practice to get better at your craft (dancing in this case) and to learn to overcome your fears. Once again, the illustrations are awesome and the story line was excellent. Well done!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good story about acceptance 21 Jun. 2013
By Glorybee - Published on Amazon.com

My little grandchildren loved this book. The illustrations of the monster in his ballet pink tutu just made them burst out laughing. Anything that makes kids belly laugh is priceless to me. There is nothing more satisfying to me than hearing that truly marvelous sound.

Along with the illustrations and great story line, there is also the bonus of a teaching moment. I truly enjoy discussing what we've read together when there is a lesson involved. I didn't realize this was the third book Little Monster book. I'll be picking up more from this series.
