Product Description

Teeth -- who needs them? From a rabbit to a dog to cat to a cow to a horse, they all need teeth to eat the food they require to remain healthy and happy. Children are the same.

“If you didn’t have teeth, you wouldn’t have fun.
You couldn’t eat an apple or a cinnamon bun.

You couldn’t eat a sandwich made of cheddar cheese. You couldn’t eat green beans or peas.

You couldn’t eat all the things that make you strong and bright.
You couldn’t eat a snack in the middle of the night.

You couldn’t eat a birthday cakeon your special day.
You’d be left with only ice cream, as they’d take the cake away.”

This is a delightful way to emphasize the importance of caring for one’s teeth, and not just to chew with, but to put on a happy face and smile with.

* 25 whimsical illustrations full of color and charm
* Great reminder for every child

Who needs teeth? We all do!

More About the Author

"Bright and happy," "light and whimsical" have been the catch phrases attached to the writing and art of Sally Huss for over 30 years. Sweet images dance across all of Sally's creations, whether in the form of children's books, paintings, wallpaper, ceramics, baby bibs, purses, clothing, or her King Features Syndicated newspaper panel "Happy Musings."

Before graduating from USC with a degree in Fine Art in the 60's, Sally had already become a champion tennis player, having won the Wimbledon and U.S. Junior titles and been a Wimbledon semi-finalist in the Women's Division in both singles and doubles. Carrying both her brushes, pens, plus rackets in her hands, she continued to operate in two arenas. With her husband Marv Huss, former head of Advertising and Promotion for Hallmark Cards, they developed the renowned Aspen Club in Colorado, a luxury health spa and tennis facility. After that, they embarked on building a string of 26 Sally Huss Galleries across the country offering Sally's art, writings, and licensed products.

Through the galleries, Sally's creations have found their way into millions of offices, hotels, and homes, including those of Clint Eastwood, Kirk Douglas, Joel Gray, Bill and Hillary Clinton, and Mitt Romney.

Presently the Husses reside on an art ranch in Fallbrook, California, where Sally indulges herself in her life-long passion of writing and illustrating her own books. The majority of these books are for children, while others touch on her expertise as a tennis champion, and still others reveal her positive philosophy of life. Her creations are still "bright and happy, "light and whimsical" after all these years! www.sallyhuss.com

This book is just adorable! Our kids loved it and it gave them more of incentive to take care of their teeth than just their parents nagging them to do so. It explained why in very simple terms that teeth are needed and should be cared for. Thanks to the author for this wonderfully charming reminder. We recommend.
5.0 out of 5 stars Take Care of Your Teeth 20 Aug 2014

Thank you Sally for once again reminding us of the basics. What a wonderful way for children to understand the reasoning behind brushing their teeth. Some of us whether children or adults like to analyse and understand the why or how things work. It might take a little more effort to explain in detail the benefits and importance to a child of the basics of health, but it does make a difference rather than just being told to do it. That's why Sally's book fits the bill. She takes all the impatience out of teaching children to form good basic health habits. Plus, they can read it over and over because we learn through repetition. It was a fun book and I love your rhyming in the style of Dr. Suess. Very catchy. Rhyming is a powerful way to remember anything even as an adult.

This is a simply adorable book! A charming story of the importance of healthy teeth. Anyone who has struggled to get their children to brush their teeth, will love this book! Delightful rhymes that remind our little ones that teeth really need attention and care. I read this to my niece and she promptly got up and said to me, "Auntie, I am sorry, but I have to go and to brush my teeth now." Great message!

I just met a little boy whose teeth are eroding and he is only 2! Thank you for writing this one, Sally. It can be such a challenge to get my little ones to brush. We have no idea of the importance of these little things when we are young. I will read this one to them and create a ritual around their teeth brushing so it becomes a positive habit. Thank you, Sally, for your help here!

What a fun way to have kids see the benefits of caring for their teeth!
Would be great for dentists to have this to give to children at their first visit.

Also great for teachers to use as a reference when teaching about oral care. Kids love the illustrations and the rhyming helps to remember the messages.
Another gem in your crown Sally!
Hugs LL
