Having a child who is image conscious, she didn't see this coming at all. Perfect. She's 9, and I just got her to read this to her younger sister. Was a brilliant story and surprise for her, she thought it was just about a race. Well done on the misdirection. :) xx

This is an adorable little eBook! My son and daughter absolutely love it.
It has charming illustrations, very cute rhymes and an important moral lesson - all that a children's book needs.
Perfect choice for small children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved the Tale of the Snail 19 Nov 2013

Beautifully illustrated book with a fun story line that also teaches a great lesson.
In this day and age, children are often overwhelmed by peer pressure.
Sammie teaches children (and adults) that often what we think we may want- isn't the best choice.
I won't spoil the story ending for you but I will say as I read the story (and watched my granddaughter read it later) there is a certain point in the story where you suck in your breath a bit. At this point, it all becomes clear to you (and to Sammie) why things are the way they are - even if he (and you) didn't see it before.
It also becomes clear that sometimes the things we think need changing - really are perfect the way they are.
I bought this book for my granddaughter and loved. loved. loved the colors and how much time was obviously put into this story. Sammie captures your heart and I hope to see him in other adventures in the near future.
I know we'll be reading this story over and over.
5.0 out of 5 stars why does a snail have a shell ? 19 Mar 2014

I loved this book on the premise of a child being intrigued by a snail not liking it's shell and the parent being asked to 'read it to me again.' It's an informative little story about slimmy snails that appeals to a child's inquiring mind. Darling story.

I love the fact they offer free books and lots of them are pretty good, otherwise kindle books are over priced in my opinion.
