Book Description

1 Nov 2001
In this book children from England and the rest of Europe, the U.S.A., Lebanon, South Africa, Israel, India, Brazil, Sri Lanka and Turkey remember their past lives. Scientists - most notably Professor Ian Stevenson, Director of the Division of Personality Studies at the Health Sciences Centre at the University of Virginia - report on how their stories are then followed up to verify that the children's memories are correct. Especially convincing are the cases of children born with missing limbs who are able to describe exactly where and when they lost these limbs in their past life. They also often know precisely who their parents and relatives were and where they lived. When the children's statements are subjected to scientific verification, they are invariably confirmed in every detail. Through these investigations, reincarnation is proved to be more than a belief or a philosophy, having been categorically proven through the statements of children. The scientific evidence, as presented in this book, shows reincarnation to be the truth and all religions and philosophies will have to swiftly encompass these ideas into their existing concepts to maintain any credibility. We will all be talking about rebirth as a fact of life. The concept of reincarnation belongs to the future and this is only the beginning.

A great insight into why we are on this earth now and before. The knowledge that these children have about their previous lives on this plain are truely amazing and makes you want to learn more.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fascinating Insight 13 Feb 2004
Format:Paperback
Thoroughly fascinating insight into reincarnation, very much a metter of fact rather than hear say. A well written book covering actual experiences of children around the world. If you are a beleiver this will only add to confirmation that reincarnation exists and to non beleivers l think they would be hard pushed to disprove these accounts.

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing 14 Sep 2011
Format:Paperback
The stories are very interesting but the book is very hard work. Notes from the author are placed gratuitously throughout the text and break the flow of every story, in the end just becoming irritating. Furthermore, the author's tone tends toward being dogmatic and judgmental, which is bizarre, as he is trying to put forward a belief or idea (reincarnation) that has suffered from the dogma of science and religion in the past. Far from coming across as proof, it then just starts appearing inconsequential.

This could be done a lot better.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as I thought 13 Jan 2009
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book disappointed me greatly and I put it down after the first 2 chapters.
It is written in bad translated English and doesnt flow. The stories about the children are fascinating but not well presented and there isnt enough reserach to back any of the stories up - which makes the book seem unreliable in its message.

2.0 out of 5 stars could have been interesting 15 Jun 2014
By Marketa
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
At the beginning the book is interestin, but it soon deteriorates. Firstly, the examples are old, does reincarnation not happen anymore? Secondly within the examples comment from the author are interspersed which a) make annoying interruptions and b)are often referring to the reader as being ignorant.

This book purposes to present scientific evidence for reincarnation. As a scientist I do not agree that it is presented in a scientific manner or supported by scientific facts.

2.0 out of 5 stars disappointing.. 27 Jan 2009
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Like another reviewer, I found this book very disappointing. It is simply dishonest to suggest that Elizabeth Kubler-Ross has anything to do with it - that's the first point. Her 'contribution' is in fact a half-page forward, only one sentence of which refers to this book! Research is very thin, 'comment' is overwhelming, constant, vacuous and cliched. Author seems to have done very little direct work himself on reincarnation, and simply re-hashes the case studies of other authors.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad. 1 Jun 2014
By Joanne
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Not particularly scientific and needs proof reading as a few sloppy errors. Good to read on a rainy afternoon or in the lav. Not a massive boon for a decent Fortean library as the author is a total believer but good when you want to waste a couple if hours.
