Product Description

Set on the sun-drenched Bahaman islands, Children of God is an award-winning, timeless and brave love story. Blond haired, blue-eyed Jonny travels to the island of Eleuthera intent on finding some artistic inspiration. After arriving he meets the confident, attractive black musician Romeo and it is instantly clear that there is a spark between them. Although Romeo has a fiancé, he has secretly played with the boys on the side before but Johnny is not just any boy, and soon their relationship becomes far more complex than a simple fling. Struggling to overcome rampant homophobia, and anti-gay crusade erupting around them, it is going to take more than wishful thinking for their love to last. A beautifully shot, captivating romance, Children of God paints a universally relevant portrait of desire, sexual conflict, tolerance and self-acceptance

Beautiful Film 7 Oct 2011
By Wayne
Format:DVD
This film is absolutlely stunning. It is a very realistic portrayal of the struggles that gay people, whether or not they are open about their sexuality or not, have to deal with in modern day society and across the world. The film deals with homophobia, religion, acceptance, prejudice and love. I would recommend this film to anyone, it is a truly touching film x

Good low budget pic 10 Jun 2011
By Nimbu
Format:DVD
Well I enjoyed it though the production values are very low, the acting is a bit stiff and awkward and the characters are all a bit 2D. Good to see films dealing with these issues coming out from the Carribean.

I saw Children Of God at last years's London lesbian & Gay Film Festival and absolutely loved it! For a start, it looks stunning. The locations are breathtaking and the cinematography is striking and lush throughout. The film is set in the Bahamas in 2004, when Rosie O'Donnell's gay cruise ship caused huge controversy. The plot follows four individuals whose lives are affected by gay issues ranging from a young suicidal artist to a conservative anti-gay activist. It's not long before the four protagonists cross paths with powerful and moving results. This is simply a gorgeous film filled with strong performances and deals with controversial issues. Not to be missed!
