Review

`This author`s books are so current that they could be taken straight off the news. The sixth episode in a fast growing series, I`m at a loss to explain how he keeps them so exciting, while different from the previous novels. Yet again, a 10/10 thriller. --The Reporter

: 5.0 out of 5 stars Gripping /page turner!!,
I have never heard of Conrad Jones and seeing this book and its reviews I thought 'why not' and boy am I so glad I did, it has to be one of the best books I have read in a while, so good I didnt sleep till I finished it,I just couldnt put it down. Being so impressed by Mr.Jones I have now purchased more of his books and each one so far is brilliant! I am so thankful to kindle because without it I would never of known this writer. Brilliant brilliant brilliant! :)

A stand alone novel based on high profile child abductions, which have been followed by millions of concerned parents on the news. 5 year old twins are abducted from a tent in the Lake District and the hunt for a dangerous peadophile ring begins.

Police procedure follows the premise that 60% of abducted children are murdered within the first four hours of being taken. The first hour is called "The golden hour" and the longer a child is missing, the less chance there is of them being recovered unharmed.

The Child Taker follows the desperate search for the missing twins. Packed with action and twists, this is one of the best thriller novels around. Guardian Reviews

BEST SELLING AUTHOR STEPHEN LEATHER`S REVIEW Great fast-moving thriller, January 5, 2011 Stephen Leather - This review is from: Soft Target (Soft Target Series) (Kindle Edition) This was one of the first Kindle books that I read, and it's a corker, up to the standards of Andy McNab and Chris Ryan. Fast-paced, tight prose, it kept me hooked from start to finish. I'll definitely be reading more from this author.

First Writer`s review; Conrad Jones began writing in 2007 and he is already a prolific thriller novelist of the highest order. As far as emerging UK authors go, he is up there with best of them.

Reader`s Corner; I read the paperback version of this outstanding novel. There is mention in the author`s notes which alludes to where the story came from. It was inspired by a high profile child abduction which had such an impact on the author that he crafted this novel. It is written well and the subject matter is handled with care. The book has his usual action packed storyline and is difficult to put down!

This is a 10/10 thriller novel. Borders Books;

An instant hit from a proven literary talent. A must read for thriller lovers.

Author and biographer, Conrad Jones has produced nine excellent thriller novels, a vampire horror, and a biography (about his Thai-boxing instructor) since 2007! He is a prolific new thriller writer and one of the best to emerge from the UK for years. Florida based film maker, M.S. Snyder has turned Soft Target into a screenplay. The series has attracted over 300 five star reviews from his readers (12 one star reviews)

If you are a thriller reader do not miss this series. London Book Reviews.

“Edge of the seat storylines. The series gets better with every novel.” Kindle writers` forum.

The series so far. Soft Target; Soft Target II 'Tank', Soft Target III 'Jerusalem', 18th Brigade, Blister. The Child Taker, Slow Burn, Nine Angels, (Criminally Insane, the Gecko Murders, coming soon)

I have to be honest, I had never heard of Conrad Jones (Sorry Mr Jones), and really only bought the book as it was a bargain on the Kindle and I'm open to reading any thrillers from any authors.
Initially I couldn't work out where the book was going as in the first 4 chapters, two were dealing with a child taker and the other two were dealing with a secret ops unit in somalia. When it became apparant where the book was going I was enthralled and couldn't put it down.
I cannot believe those that have given the book 1 and 2 star ratings, one even saying the writing was childlike! I found the book every bit as a good as those from writers such as Linwood Barclay, Andrew Gross, James Patterson. The book kept me gripped to the end, and boy what an ending.
I would certainly read more books from this author, although not so keen on the terrorist genre of books, but certainly if he wrote more thrillers like this I would buy them all.
Highly recommend it. Give it a try.

A thriller wrapped around child abduction is not an easy book to write I suspect, and, at times, its not easy to read either. But the author handles the topic with sensitivity, whilst not easing up on the customary helping of graphic and, at times, gory descriptive prose.
But this book demonstrates yet again the creative talent of Conrad Jones as a story teller, as he weaves a cleverly constructed plot through to its ultimate, and rather unexpected, conclusion.
This is the sixth book in the Soft Target series, and I've read them all, one after the other. I can't say that this is my favourite..maybe I found it a little disturbing..but it is none the less a cracking read, and fully up to the high standard that the author has established in a short time.
