1.0 out of 5 stars Ludicrous, outdated, simplistic, fifth rate garbage!, 14 Mar 2009

(REAL NAME)
This book is so bad I returned it for a refund and I only paid half price for it in the first place! It is a truly dreadful book, a complete waste of paper. What makes it worse is the rave reviews it received from almost every quarter, which take up the first three pages inside the cover. Either the reviewers failed to read the book, highly likely, or they are as ignorant of the subject as the author.

I read a diverse range of books and generally even the worst book has something to recommend it, some small redeeming feature. This book has none whatsoever. The cliques ricochet off the page with all the accuracy of the US armies frequent friendly fire incidents. It seems to draw it's 'facts' from Hollywood propaganda movies and 'reds under the bed', type views of Soviet Russia.

Though best of all and laugh out loud funny is the idea of the hero being called Leo. Short history lesson, Joseph Stalin (born Ioseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili - 18 December 1878, died 5 March 1953) was the General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union's Central Committee from 1922 until his death in 1953. In the years following Lenin's death in 1924, he rose to become the leader of the Soviet Union. Having done so he set about, with ruthless zeal, having killed all potential political opposition, this included one Leon Trotsky, who departed this realm in Mexico with an ice pick in the back of his cranium! Joseph Stalin was both paranoid and homicidal, to imagine that anyone would name a child, Leo, Leon or any derivative there of, or that having done so, the child would continue to be known by that name after Stalin rose to power is farcical, unbelievable and frankly just plain dumb.

Believe me when I say, save your money for something better, after all Amazon has a huge selection and none could be quite as poor, naive and one dimensional as this one.
