Product Description

Colbey, last of the Renshai, has completed his duties in the mortal world. Now he must face the Seven Tasks of Wizardry and learn whether he is truly the next Western Wizard, the keeper of neutrality. But even as he endures these god- controlled challenges, he learns there is an eighth, far more dangerous task. Dangerous not only to himself but to the worlds of both humans and gods. And even if he survives it, there are those among the gods, wizards and mortals alike who will unite against him - and their actions could catalyse destruction on a scale never yet conceived. Each volume of The Last of the Renshai is a stand-alone adventure; they can also be read in sequence. Centred on the adventures of a lone hero, they form an engrossing sword-and-sorcery epic.

I loved this series. True, it was a bit over the top and the heores all were miraculous. But that was the setting in which they lived. Offspring of gods must needs be miraculous. It should go without saying. Both series are good however, I can see where some may not like them.

A really good book, with everything anyone could possibly want.

The only reason that i didnt give it 5 stars was that the "twists in the tail" were spotted straight away, and were rather easy to see through.

The characters are well thought out, and very well detailed, although the main character Colbey seemed a bit too good at times. The book is written at a much faster tempo than in the previous book ("the western wizard").

Highly recomended.

Although the story is inspired by scandanavian myths it becomes something else once you get past the initial doubt that it is based on myths and not purely a fantasy.Nevertheless Reicherts novel is fantasy with ideas that are separate from the inspiration. The characters are well thought out, making you the reader ,to relate and becoming them. A good read.
