However, Tanja is not alone in accomplishing these feats in this project. Truly seasoned professionals backed Maritsa's talented songwriting, profound lyrics and evocative vocals. There is meticulous production work by legendary arranger Richard Niles - who also added his guitar skills on the project. The remarkable piano instrumentation of Gwil Simcock fuses seamlessly with Tanja's sultry vocals. However, there are also more heart wrenching and melancholic songs such as Memory Box and Shadow of a Man. There's a romantic feel in tracks like La Vie en Rose. Enchanting songs like A Thousand Years and the title track Child in My Heart soaks into your heart and display incredible vocal skills. While Tanja has been mentioned in the same sentence as greats like Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald and reminiscent of Eva Cassidy and Joni Mitchell, she remains stylistically unique.
