I am studying a Psychology course in preparation for a Psychology Degree in September 2009. My particular interest is the way in which children develop and their reasons for behaving in the way they do. This book is very informative and details all the relevant theorists such as Piaget and Mary Ainsworth and their studies which made a huge contribution to child development. This book contains illustrations and diagrams which assist in demonstrating the different experiments and case studies performed, and its language is not too technical yet it uses the correct terminology and explains it very well.

I would recommend this book to anybody who has an interest in child development, regardless of whether they are studying psychology as an academic subject, just for personal interest, or purely just because they have an interest in the way that children will grow up and how they learn new skills. A fantastic buy and worth its weight in gold!
