Anyone who loves the Scottish highlands will find this book enchanting. It is a wonderful tale and told well. Having visited loch Awe, knowing how beautiful and bewitching the loch and castle are, I am glad the author has found the words to describe the beauty and magic it holds.

4.0 out of 5 stars very nice romantic tale 3 Mar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Based on enough historical fact to lend it an air of truth, the imagination of the writer weaves the kind of romantic and magical tale which brings the beauty of the surroundings to life. There is a fair bit of artistic licence taken with history, but enough research is evident that you can imagine this to be another version of the truth, untold by history. A pleasant read for romantic historical fiction with little of the cheesiness of some of that genre.

Well written it had me enthralled from the beginning. I like historical novels that bring history to life without turning it into a Hollywood version.
