A stunning photographic story. (The Ultimate First Book Guide ) --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

Product Description

Nneka's little brother's favourite colour is blue, but could it be because he doesn't know any others? Nneka decides to teach him nine colours seen in their village - from the yellow of the "gari" they eat to the pink of the flowers growing around their house.

There is a series of these books by this photographer who has address the balance by showing positive images of african children enjoying their culture and tradition as well as doing similar things that other children around the world do.They also look healthy and well instead of the usually images seen on TY hungry and ill and in need of help.Every school should have a copy of this or any of the others in the series.

Beautiful photographs 29 July 2010
Format:Paperback
A beautiful book written clearly. I used it with my reception class when we were finding out about Nigeria. They found out so much information from it. They also loved looking at the photographs as it made the information even easier to understand. One colour to a page with photographs to illustrate the writing. Fabulous quality

My seven year old nephew and I read this book one rainy day and we both thought that it was great. The colors and the story were well thought out and we would like to find other books like it.
An excellent book 18 Aug 2009

I really couldn't sing the praises of this book enough. I picked up the book initially because I recognized the author's name as Igbo. I was thrilled to find a well written book with beautiful, vivid photography that really captures many of the aspects of traditional Igbo life. I just love this book of colors and I think it is my favorite book of colors yet (and we own many). It is a great introduction to Igbo culture for my children and a source of pride for all Igbo people. A beautifully done book. I highly, highly recommend it.
