Format:Audio CD
The film Chico & Rita struck me instantly I loved everything about it including the music. I had to have this soundtrack in my life and when it came I was pleasantly surprised the packaging is just beautiful tons of hand drawn pictures its a stunning packages and of course the music is outstanding!

Delightful soundtrack from a wonderful, animated film. It inspired me to to watch 'Chico and Rita' again. The soundtrack may encourage others to see it for the first time. If so, all the better to watch such a rightly acclaimed movie in any case. Normally I'd give the album 4 stars , only because unless you've seen the movie then perhaps it makes it all a little less complete with no point of reference from memory ? However, I'll give it a 5 star rating to put it up there where it belongs. I really cannot understand anyone complaining about the content of a soundtrack when what they want to hear is not part of the film in the first place.

I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, very well done on many levels, so decided to send for the soundtrack. I expected more of the smokey, sensual female vocals but got too much of the upbeat tracks that were far too similar. If that's what you like then go for it, but if you want more of the slow and sexy, you won't find it here. The artwork and presentation though, are excellent.
