Product Description

Product Description
Forget Chick Lit, this is Chick Wit. A brand new collection of humorous quotations from some of the sassiest women around today. Outspoken and outrageous, witty and wise, brash and brazen, these feisty females have a view on everything, and they want to share it. Sandra Bullock, Roseanne Barr, Madonna, Jade Jagger, Naomi Klein, Kelly Osborne, Angelina Jolie, Kate Beckinsale, Mariella Frostrup, Julie Burchill, Jo Brand, Allison Pearson, Sarah Jessica Parker: these are just a few of the women who voice the opinions and concerns of a generation. From sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll, to relationship counselling and fertility treatments, pop culture and fashion, to those age-old topics of conversation that never cease to provoke strong responses from women: men and relationships, Chick Wit is full of classic one-liners that will have you laughing in recognition, stirred up to fight the cause, or running for shelter!

1.0 out of 5 stars Chick Wit, 23 May 2005
By A Customer
I bought this book for a friend. Both she and I read it and found it very poor. There were a handful of amusing quotes eg Jo Brand and Jenny Eclair, however, on the whole it was a great let down. Charlotte Church, Kym Marsh, Emma Bunton etc are not generally renowned for their wit or humorous one liners. There's a reason for that, they just aren't funny. I would also disagree that it was well researched. There are 3 quotes from Marion Barry, the former Mayor of Washington DC. The only problem is, Marion Barry is a man. I do wonder how such a high profile name could have crept in to a "well researched" book. This was a good idea, but poor research and a poor selection of celebrities, really let it down.
