About the Author
Ed Vere studied fine art at Camberwell College of Art and has been writing and illustrating children's books since 1999. He is published in both the UK and America. Ed is also a painter, working from his studio in East London and is represented by galleries in London, Los Angeles and South Africa. Ed is the World Book Day illustrator for 2009. He lives in London.

'Chick' is our 2 year olds absolute favourite book, 3 to 4 reads are demanded every night. Not that we mind, it's brilliant - very simple and very funny (for grown ups too) - look out for the 'poop' page! It's also got a very sweet ending which cleverly encourages the idea that it's time for bed.

Love this book. My 22 month old asks for this every night before bed. Definately his favourite book. Actually buying a second one now as he has ripped it past repair.

Our 16 month old twins loved reading through this book but it has to be supervised reading. The minute my back was turned many of the pop up chickens got ripped out so much of the book is now ruined which is a shame as it is a lovely book.
