Nice Collection Of Hard To Find Tunes 8 Oct. 2009
By rollo - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Talking about rare and hard to find tracks;"Shy Guy" & "One Day I'll Show You" by the Radiants in STEREO compelled me to buy this cd. Heartbreak Society also by The Radiants and Strange Feeling by Billy Stewart are also rare finds. Cool!

I bet that Wvon has a wealth of great R&B 45s on tape from their 60s Radio show that would make a great Box set.
A lot of lost jams here. It only wets your appitie for much more. The Master quality is pristine. I wonder how many
great 45's legendary DJ Herb Kent has in his personal collection?
The was a special vibe in mid-60s Chicago 27 Oct. 2012
By PH-50-NC - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
There are traces of Motown and New Orleans soul here, but this collection for the most part doesn't sound *exactly* like any other mid-sixties soul. It's less "Uptown" than most of the Manhattan soul session being cut at the same time, yet it's not as deeply bluesy as Stax-type Southern Soul. Perhaps it's the combination of gritty vocals and "uptown" background vocal arrangements that I like so much...a nice blending of the raw and the polished. The songwriting, which I expected to be good on an Ace / Kent Records compilation, actually surpassed my expectations. I think this is going to very quickly become one of my favorite Kent discs, and none of them have been in the least bit disappointing to me so far.
