Razzle Dazzle...,

This review is from: Chicago: Movie Vocal Seclections (Paperback)
Some great songs here, a great selection and some great arrangements. Eight gorgeous pictures from the Movie, plus a production synopsis with cast lists for both film and show. The music is somewhat complete, with some of the music displaying alternatives, such as "movie version end" and "Stage ending". Cell block Tango is included, with dialogue cues! And even 'I Can't Do it Alone', although parts of the instrumental-dance sections aren't included (i.e. the song is written once through and, not as in the film version, twice through). The movy-cut song ,'Class', is also there, among all of the other favourites. However, the chord symbols often don't match. E.g., instead of a chord being Bb7, it is written as B7, which is really confusing. And this doesn't just happen a few times - I'd forget the chord symbols if I were you! A part from this, a well produced folio. Perfect for singers and cabaret artists alike.

This is a very good music book and a does well to replicate the music from the film, however if you are looking for something you just want to play alone with no singer (yourself or another) then this is not ideal: it does not play the melody in most parts of the pieces, as it expects there to be a singer. This being the case, I do not use the book much. Just a warning.
