I read this book with my daughter and we both enjoyed it immensely.For children I would say ages 8-12.All the stories are well written contain happy endings and carry simple morals such as compassion,and forgiveness- and on a deeper level the notion of karma.
While the stories are of chinese origin you can see similarities with western folklore,and other fairy tales.
Artwork is appropriate and works well.
All in all well worth the hardback if you can get it.

This is a beautiful collection of stories .The ancient wisdom of the East is eternal . I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to expand their knowledge of Chinese literature .
