The all new Sensory University Bite Buddies system is completely molded from the same safe material that our Chew Stixx Product has been made from for years. This product is completely FDA approved and contains no BP or Phthalates. Each order comes with one of hundreds of shapes (shipped at random to promote fair collecting) and one retractable belt clip. Each belt clip can hold up to 4 shapes and can be combined in endless combinations. Adding additional key rings provides room for additional pendants. Some children carry 20 or 30 at a time. If your child seeks sensory input through grinding or chewing on items that could be hazardous to their well being, this product is for them. We have had thousands of request for the ability to attach our chew products to a child's neck, clothing, belt, etc. in order to prevent exposure to dirt, and loss of the product. The Sensory University has now created a safe method to both protect your child's chew device, and keep it from being dropped on the floor, dirt, sink, etc. The all new Bite Buddies are fun to collect, and offer a not so obvious chew device that your child won't be embarrased of, but will be proud to carry. Even though this product is being allowed in most schools, we will be happy to provide an Occupational Therapist signed letter stating that this is not a toy but a calming Oral Motor Device and that should be allowed in your child's classroom. My son, now 11, used oral motor tubes which were previously supplied by his school. I thought they were wonderful as it stopped him from chewing his clothes but we kept losing them. I then discovered the Chewy Charms (although just recently) with the extendable key ring which has worked wonders and has saved us a fortune in soap powder! Thanks Amazon

MISLEADING. The way this product was presented was definitely MISLEADING. To pay almost $10 for ONE item and the belt loop. I would not have bought this item had I known it was for just one time. I thought I was getting value for money but NO WAY!

These chewy charms have been a blessing for us and our autistic son. With the retractable lanyard it doubles as a fidget toy as well. At first I was disappointed that you had to buy a $10 charm and lanyard every time but I see that they recently started selling the charms separately.
I only have two complaints and they are mostly about the company that makes the product (Sensory University) not the charms themselves.
1) The charms are sent randomly. My son does not like the round shapes, he needs an edge to bite on or something that fits his mouth better than the round ones. There is no way to request a certain shape because...
2) The company does not reply to e-mails or answer the phone number that is listed for them. I have tried to contact several times in the past year and nothing. I even contacted one of the other companies that sells their products and asked THEM to contact Sensory University and they got no answer either.
I read a lot of their reviews and others have had the same problems. So there you have it, great product but no service from the company that makes it.

This chewy is almost what I was looking for in order to provide oral motor stimulation for my daughter with sensory integration issues. I say 'almost' because while I love the durability of the chewy and really love the retractable clip, it is too firm for my daughter. I'm guessing this product is targeted to aggressive chewers that are really craving deep, deep sensory input from their chewing. My daughter uses it from time to time, but most often I see her with her favorite chewy that has more give, that, thanks to the clip, is readily available and always with her.
