Im guessing that the majority of interest in this title at Amazon would be from (including myself) those who enjoyed David Lynch's film masterpiece "Twin Peaks - Fire Walk With Me"
This is the exact recording featured in the film - right conductor, orchestra and vocalists.
Cherubini's work is included in two short sequences, the first during the actual murder of Laura at the hands of her demon-possesed incestuous father, and the second as the end credits roll.
The section a Twin Peaks fan will look for is in the last part of the recording, but a patient listener will find immeasurable value in absorbing the music from the beginning
Its a powerful combination and those who enjoyed the film upto that point will almost certainly feel a lump in their throats as the credits roll.
Cerubini's angels attending to the Christ ties in neatly with Lynch's tragic Laura Palmer finally being granted her angels back.
For classical music fans who have never experienced Lynchian cinema ,I would recommend this recording as a gateway to such.
His work is often dismissed as too weird by those who are unaware/afraid of its depth
