Cherryl Vines grew up as a post war baby in the Midlands.
Art school was followed by a number of years as an advertising copy writer.
Following the birth of her two daughters Kate and Lucy she developed her love of interior design and owned and ran a successful Interior Design showroom in Blakedown, Worcs.
Forced to retire due to ill health she used her free time to record her mother Pamelas stories for a family archive. Although aware of a number of events that had shaped and reshaped her mothers life it was only when she finally sat her mother Pamela down to record them that she realised just what an amazing story there was to tell.
Spanning the years from 1939 to 1945 with a brief reference back to her early years the book is a true record of what life was like for a fifteen year old girl in a small Worcestershire village during the war.
