*~This is a Full length / Standalone / Blackstone Affair Spin-Off~* Childhood crush...Lifetime love...Never letting go... Elaina Morrison has loved Neil McManus her whole life. He's a soldier who has endured years of longing and sacrifice to wait for his girl. He's fought his way through battles before, and this is one he can't afford to lose, on any level. Neil has a plan. About the Author

A New York Times bestselling author who has been reading romance novels since she picked up that first Barbara Cartland book at the tender age of thirteen. And it's a safe bet she'll never stop, because now she writes them too. Granted, Raine's stories are edgy enough to turn Ms. Cartland in her grave, but to her way of thinking a hot, sexy hero never goes out of fashion. Ever! Writing books pretty much fills her days now and she's always busy. Raine has a prince of a husband, and two brilliant sons to pull her back into the real world if the writing takes her too far away. She loves to hear from readers and to chat about the characters in her books. You can connect with her on Facebook or visit her blog at www.RaineMiller.com to find out what she's working on now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfection 18 Sep 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
What can I say about Cherry Girl other then it is quite possibly one of the most beautiful love stories I've read in a long time. Raine Miller nails it again. This book is standalone but if you've read The Blackstone Affair series you will be familiar with the characters. The story centers around Neil and Elaina, they have known each other since they were children. Elaina immediately falls in love with Neil, but how does a 10 year old profess her undying love to a 17 year old? Years pass and two remain close, it isn't until Neil is sent off to war that you start to see a shift in feelings. Fast forward 4 years later and Neil and Elaina are finally able to act of the feelings they have been harboring for one and other. But just as fast as they come together, they are torn apart. I don't want to write anymore because I don't want to give the whole story away. But I can honestly say this is Hand's Down Raine Miller's best work to date. Please check this book out. You will not be disappointed!!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Love Story that Transcends Time 2 Mar 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Cherry Girl is another beautiful story from Raine Miller. This lady is a rock star in my opinion in that I have loved every book she's written. This is a standalone book that introduces us to Neil McManus and Elaina Morrison, two characters that we are introduced to in Raine's Blackstone series. If you've read the Blackstone series, we briefly meet Neil there as Ethan's right hand man working at Blackstone Security. In Cherry Girl, we get the full Neil, in all his beautiful glory.

Neil and Elaina first meet when a seventeen year old Neil comes to ten year old Elaina's house as a guest of her brother Ian. Elaina's family adopts Neil as a member of their family since Neil has no real home to speak of. Elaina falls in love with Neil when he winks at her across the table and so starts the love story. Neil joins the military after school and becomes SF special forces. When he is home on leave he visits with her family but primarily spends time with his girlfriend Cora who Elaina hates with a passion. All the while Neil stays in contact with Elaina but treats her like a sister. Tragedy strikes Elaina's family and her whole life changes.

When Elaina is 18 Neil comes home on leave and the dynamic between him and Elaina shifts. Their feelings for each other are finally expressed and their love story finally starts. But outside forces seek to tear them apart and Neil and Elaina are pulled apart for 5 long years. Fate decides to step in and bring these two back together and their road back to each other is just beautiful.

"I opened my eyes and traced over every part of his features, as beautiful now as he'd always been when he was a boy of seventeen and winked at me over the dinner table.

5.0 out of 5 stars A captivating love story 15 Dec 2013
By Nicola_1202 TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition
I loved this. It's beautiful, emotional, touching, witty and captivating and I fell in love with both Neil and Elaina. Whilst both featured prominently in the Blackstone series, this can be read as a standalone.

Their love-story over the years stole my heart more than Ethan and Brynne's (although in fairness you can't compare the two). If you are a true romantic you will absolutely love the emotion that 'Cherry Girl' invokes. I felt their joy, pain, happiness and sorrows and with no exasperating cliffhangers and nothing left unanswered, it left me feeling complete.

Raine Miller has nailed it with this one for me. From the perfect British-isms to the love scenes and everything in between, it's quite simply a winner.
