5.0 out of 5 stars THANK-YOU 17 Aug. 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This has been a life saver. I'm taking A-Level chemistry and I often find that the revision guides are a little vague so it is perfect to use in conjuction with them. It was easy to find what I was looking for and everything was explained clearly so that even someone with no chemical background would understand. In truth I read the whole book over the summerholiday before starting my A-Levels which meant that I went back to school feeling very confident with my chemistry- I would reccomend doing this to anyone about to start A-levels.
Overall it's a great book and totally worth it :)

3.0 out of 5 stars Chemistry Essentials - Kindle version 10 Dec. 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I totally agree with the previous reviewers regarding the five stars given to the author of this book, though presumably they were reading the paperback book. The Kindle ebook version, however, has a drawback - the text has no sub- or super-script notation. This can be tedious when reading about electron orbitals or chemical formulae but can actually lead to a gross error such as when providing, for example, a value for Avogadro's constant of 6.022x1023. The last two digits should be super-scripted to show that 10 is raised to a power of 23. Readers may find the subsequent text stating that this 'is a really big number', and then printing it out in full, confusing to say the least.
