Book Description

Chemical Engineering Design is one of the best-known and most widely adopted texts available for students of chemical engineering. It completely covers the standard chemical engineering final year design course, and is widely used as a graduate text. The hallmarks of this renowned book have always been its scope, practical emphasis and closeness to the curriculum. That it is written by practicing chemical engineers makes it particularly popular with students who appreciate its relevance and clarity. Building on this position of strength the fifth edition covers the latest aspects of process design, operations, safety, loss prevention and equipment selection, and much more. Comprehensive in coverage, exhaustive in detail, supported by extensive problem sets at the end of each chapter, a fully worked solutions manual and a suite of valuable software tools, this is a book that students will want to keep to hand as they enter their professional life. KEY FEATURES * The leading chemical engineering design text with over 25 years of established market leadership to back it up; an essential resource for the compulsory design project all chemical engineering students take in their final year * A complete and trusted teaching and learning package: the book offers a broader scope, better curriculum coverage, more extensive ancillaries and a more student-friendly approach, at a better price, than any of its competitors * Endorsed by the Institution of Chemical Engineers, guaranteeing wide exposure to the academic and professional market in chemical and process engineering.

1.0 out of 5 stars Has anyone even opened this? 27 May 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
As an engineer who expects to travel a lot, I was delighted at the idea of getting a kindle textbook. Fortunately, I tried the free sample first. I have to ask if anyone other than me has even looked at this. There are no chapter markers, making navigating the book a nightmare. The contents pages are badly formatted; whatever they used to transcribe the book has picked up all the problems as chapter markers, meaning the contents table has the full text of all the exercises and solutions in the book in it! Finally, there are no page numbers, a must for when you need to check a reference. This merits zero stars.

1.0 out of 5 stars For reference to Kindle version only 6 Jun 2011

The formatting of this text is non-existent. Download a sample and feel free to indulge a brief moment of snobbery by snorting at it.

All the text is quite simply, one unreadable body.

My main question is, why did they bother? A cheap buck from the foolish not to download a sampler?

Good book if you are studying Process Design in University. Contains almost most of the information that is needed for your Design Project (as told by some seniors).

This book is great for any uni design work. It's not like the other books that just gives you the theory, this book actually tells you how to design things and why!
