This book was recommended to me and the people in my Chemistry course for much of the introductory chemistry we are currently doing, by most lecturers (including (modestly) Mark Winter himself).
This book is like it says, about Chemical Bonding, this means it goes over the theory of bonding including why our current theories of bonding are as they are based on atomic structure and then goes over in efficient detail about the different models of bonding we have e.g. Lewis Models, Valence Bond Theory and Molecular Orbital Theory, and also VSEPR which is used to determine the most likely shape of a molecule which then ties in with the other theories.
As you will find that these theories sit well and truly in the realm of inorganic chemistry but basically underpins pretty much ALL Chemistry whether it is physical or organic, so is essential to any person wanting to do Chemistry in any capacity, probably why we are being told to learn it now in my first semester of my first year at university.
