Hilarious, disgusting and outrageous! All of these emeotions will be felt when reading Michael Saxon's hidden, inside look of being a chef in the world world's top restaurants and hotels. Both shocking and entertaining at the same time, the book glues you to it's pages and provides a once in a life chance to be there and see it all in the kitchen!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Tasty Classic 25 April 2001
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
A insprational narrative of the life and work history of international chef Michael Saxon.

Starting out as a 'Green around the Gills' teenager in a local hotel in Harrogate in Yorkshire UK, the book tracks his career across countries and continents. He tells us how he adapted to different cultures and customs of his newly adopted homes whilst serving celebrities and dignitaries in the process: His new found colleagues along the way don't always make this easy! He has to cook on top of all this as well!

Mike (like all of us) puts his foot in it on occasions, but being the diplomatic gentleman that he his, he always comes out on top: His book will have you in stitches yet you won't fail to be touched by his gentlemanly attitude, which shines through in this book.

Although you may not be familiar with Michael Saxon, this book serves to show that apart from being an international chef, he has the talent to humourously and diplomatically document his fascinating life and career in this wonderful book.

How many English Television chefs could do that?

An essential feelgood read!
