This is the fourth of the wonderful Emaily Brown books, following on from
That Rabbit Belongs to Emily Brown,
Emily Brown and the Thing and
Emily Brown and the Elephant Emergency. In this story, Emily Brown and Stanley are playing when they meet a wet little teddy bear, singing a sad little song under a raincloud. So, of course, Emily Brown try to cheer her up - they take her to play in the outback of Australia, walking in the woods of Yellowstone Park and painting in the South of France, but nothing works. In fact, far from cheering her up, the little bear's sadness makes them sad too - can Emily Brown save the day? Well, of course she can and she does manage to cheer up her teddy.
These books are simply testament to the imagination of children when they are playing and also show, brilliantly, how real toys are to young children and how important a part they play in their lives. Absolutely fantastic stories, wonderful to read aloud and great for children to join in with. I highly recommend all the books and this one is certainly going to be popular at bedtime I am sure. Highly recommended.
