Im a big fan of cast iron cookware and this product does not disappoint. It met every expectation I had of a cast iron.
I really enjoy cooking with cast iron due to its vast benefits its very solid (this one is extremely high quality), lasts a lifetime and theyre non-stick (so no evening spent scrubbing).
You wont have to worry about hygiene as the surface the pan is impervious to flavours and odors and hence very hygienic. Ive found the pot very handy for storing meals in the fridge after cooking. Handy tip my mum uses her pots for marinating chicken in the fridge before she cooks it.
The above leads onto my next point that the pots are very adaptable, you can use them on almost any heat source, I have an electric hob, they can be chucked into the oven without worry, and whats best is that theyre dishwasher safe!
But please be aware that if youre going to buy cast iron you shouldnt use it on a high heat, the enamel may chip if you do this plus you get the best cooking results from a medium or low heat. The cast iron holds heat for a long time, so is great for cooking then straight to the table and it distributes heat evenly.
I found this pot very reasonable for the quality you get, its a nice piece to my collection and plus it comes with a 10 year guarantee so Ill be using it for a very long time to come.--Danielle Smith, Amazon.co.uk
Why French Cast Iron? Quite simply it's the best. The Ardennes region of France has been manufacturing premium quality cast iron cookware for generations.
Why Chasseur? Chasseur Cast iron is all hand crafted for consistent quality with a double coating of enamel. The primer coat seals the body while the coloured top coat not only provides an attractive appearance but also adds to the durability of the product and allows easy cleaning. The Chasseur range consists of Round and Oval Casseroles, Saucepans, Oval and Rectangular Serving Dishes and Roasters, Pate terrines, numerous Frypans and Grillpans plus Woks and Fondues.
Why Serving Dishes? Can be used on the hob, in the oven and under the grill for cooking and / or roasting plus ideal for serving. The attractive colourful appearance means they can go straight from the cooker to the table where due to the heat retention of the Cast Iron they will keep your food warm for second helpings. And when you've cooked and served they are easy to clean either in the dishwasher or in hot soapy water.
