Why Cast Iron? Cast iron is an excellent conductor of heat which ensures an even heat distribution on all heat sources including induction. Why French Cast Iron? Quite simply it's the best. The Ardennes region of France has been manufacturing premium quality cast iron cookware for generations. Why Chasseur? Chasseur Cast iron is all hand crafted for consistent quality with a double coating of enamel. The primer coat seals the body while the coloured top coat not only provides an attractive appearance but also adds to the durability of the product and allows easy cleaning. The Chasseur range consists of Round and Oval Casseroles, Saucepans, Oval and Rectangular Serving Dishes and Roasters, Pate terrines, numerous Frypans and Grillpans plus Woks and Fondues. Why Serving Dishes? Can be used on the hob, in the oven and under the grill for cooking and/or roasting plus ideal for serving. The attractive colourful appearance means they can go straight from the cooker to the table where due to the heat retention of the Cast Iron they will keep your food warm for second helpings. And when you've cooked and served they are easy to clean either in the dishwasher or in hot soapy water.

    The shallow wide base of this versatile dish allows maximum contact between the food and the heat and even heat retention allows cooking efficiency at low or medium temperatures, therefore conserving energy and keeping fuel bills lower.
    Ideal for those recipes that slowly simmer in a sauce!

    Comes with a handy little CHASSEUR care booklet, which includes a recipe idea for each product range.
    Available in a choice of colours, and suitable for all heat sources, hob and oven, including induction.
    Knob tolerant of oven temperatures up to 230°C and comfortable side handles aid easy lifting but don't forget your oven gloves!

    Dishwasher safe but easy to wash up by hand, too.

    Seemed good product, read the reviews on Chasseur products and were well rated and priced. After the first use on a low oven temperature the knob on top of the lid cracked in two. I am contacting Amazon to see if they will replace the item, hence the lower marking.

    Ist class customer service from Amazon, received replacement product today, no quibble. Thank you Amazon.

    On the first time in using this item the knob blew off when the cooking on gas mark 5. Return the goods to Amazon via DHL and was refunded straight away.
