Product Description

An old mystery brought them together. Solving it could tear them apart.
In the best of times, Daniel Gardner hates visiting his family. With his boyfriend pressuring him for a mortgage-serious commitment, Christmas in Easton, PA sounds, for once, like a welcome escape. His old house holds more than memories of a miserable adolescence, though. It has Trey Eriksson.
At seventeen, Trey was taken in by the wealthy Gardner family after his father was jailed for his mother’s murder. Until he left for the Army, he fought a double-edged battle—for proof of his father’s innocence and against his attraction to Daniel.
Fifteen years later, things haven’t changed. Trey is still looking for the real killer. And Daniel has never forgotten how Trey used to sneak into his room at night.
Now new clues to the murder are resurfacing—and so is Trey and Daniel’s sexual chemistry. Except this time, Trey has come to terms with his orientation.
But their connection may not be enough to overcome the mistakes of the past. Not while a murderer still walks free…
Warning: Anyone who would rather not read about hooking back up with someone who broke your heart, minor suspense, hot guys who can handle guns and each other, and lots of steamy gay sex probably isn’t reading this warning anyway, but if you are, back away slowly and keep your hands where I can see them.

K A Mitchell has cornered the market in a particularly appealing brand of gay fiction: awkward, up-tight guys whose compelling physical attraction to each other is at war with their issues. The issues do not get in the way of them having great sex and Mitchell is as good at the erotic bits as anyone, but there is a cliffhanger both in terms of the plot (in this case a murder and a political scandal) as well as whether two gorgeous men will admit their love for each other and find a way to let that love rule their lives.
This particular book is one of Mitchell's most successful because Daniel and Trey, its heroes, are involved in a drama which is itself a page-turner and which adds urgency to their (frequently and deliciously consummated) passion for each other. I couldn't put it down.

By the end of Chapter One you'll be hooked on this compelling story - a potent mix of ambition, crime, politics, the heightened pangs of love unrequited over many years and the wham - sex told with lust, excitement and uncertainty as two adult guys try to find common ground for their passion.
K.A.Mitchell paints characters and scenes with great detail and yet clarity - the tension in the story kept me turning the pages because I needed to know how Trey and Danny worked out their differing lives shot through with their need for each other.
A great read - and a good investment in cash and time!

I love thrillers, I love gay romance....Thank you for a novel of length, a thriller about gay men. I was beginning to lose faith in this genre. No action, too much gratuitous sex, shallow characters. K.A Mitchell has restored my faith.
This is a great story, great charcters, unless you speed read, it lasts longer than the average gay novel. Seriously I couldn't put it down and will definitely buy more by this author. (Still scares me that the best M/M novels are written by women, but hell! I'll get over it)!
