I’ve really enjoyed Frankie’s other books and I think this one gives you something even more. It’s about a poor woman who has a big secret which ends up destroying her whole life from her family to her work. It’s sweet in many places, I really liked her lawyer love interest and was rooting for them from the word go. She seemed to have picked terrible men in the past. I think it could have been a bit shorter as the repetition of Van Kingsley’s evil ways started to irritate me as they weren’t getting resolved and it seemed to drag on. A great conclusion to the book and plenty of twists and turns which make the book stand out from others like it.

I found the opening a bit disjointed as Judith was suddenly whisked from New York to London without too much explained about her New York life, but you quickly got to know her as a character and feel for her. Sometimes I wished she would be a bit stronger and found myself getting frustrated that she didn’t stick up for herself a bit more, but when the big twist at the end is revealed you suddenly realise why. Boy she did have a lot at stake! A really heart-warming read about the power of family and how you’ll do anything to protect them. Her love life was fun as well and I think she ended up with the right man in the end.

I became totally absorbed in this story even though it didn't start to unfold until Judith left New York for London.
We meet Judith while she is working for Howard a rich American. She leaves America to take on the task of rebuilding a PR firm back in London. Here she meets Van, a charming client and Gray, a lawyer for her American employer, Howard.
Is Van what he appears to be and is Gray the aloof lawyer.
This complex intriguing story starts to unravel.
Judith is a very capable character who doesn't want to rely on anyone but she has a secret. This secret has the potential to destroy her and her family.
I wanted Van to get his comeuppance and Gray to make a move on Judith.
A compelling read about protecting the family and the ones you love.
There were many twists and turns in this story before the unexpected ending.
This is not run of the mill story and if you like reading a complex emotional story then this is for you.

I've come only recently to Frankie McGowan books and have now read all those available on Kindle. Well written, good storylines, plots, and characterisation. I have enjoyed them all so far and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for something with a bit more than the standard contemporary chic lit fiction.

This was a real page-turner. I just wanted to know what would happen next. There were a few inconsistencies in the narrative but these didn't really detract from the general storylines running through the book.

This book started well and had a good ending. I found the bit in between dreary but felt compelled to finish it .
Have read other books by this author and the characters sort of blend into one.
