Do you know the feeling when you're reading a book you love and you want for it to end because you need to find out what happens? However, something tragic occurs once you get what you want: you have no more book to experience, wonderful world, vivid characters, twisted storylines ... only a resonating message.

This is what I feel about Chasing Amanda by Melissa Foster.

If you want to publish traditionally or self-publish, Chasing Amanda is a novel that you must read to enrich your storytelling. As writers, you can study this book for its magical story, the three-dimensional characters, and writing style (which is enchanting).

Chasing Amanda follows the story of Molly Tanner. Molly carries the guilt and devastation from when she witnessed a child's abduction, and only days later realised that the child's body she heard on the news was Amanda-the girl she let be abducted.

Nine years later, another girl, Tracey Porter, disappears. Molly can't separate herself from this case for two reasons. She feels connected to Tracey because of Amanda. Second, Molly is seeing visions of things that tie her to Tracey. The visions bring her closer to what might have happened to the innocent girl. They become stronger, pushing her determination further.

Molly won't let Tracey be taken like Amanda was. And although she knows her marriage might fall apart because of the irrational things her husband thinks she's doing, Molly knows she never had a chance to walk away-she must help find Tracey.

That's the book description, the necessary part of any book review, but I want you to take away more than that.

After being lucky enough to win a copy of the superb Megans Way, I thought I would buy Chasing Amanda and how right I was! This is a wonderful book written at a great pace and just something that you should add to your library! I can't wait to get it on Kindle :)

When a little girl is abducted in the small town where Molly lives, she thinks that her past is haunting her again. Assaulted by visions and strange dreams, will she get over it, trying to save her personal life, or will she try to help to find this girl? Nobody said that would be an easy thing to do, and Molly has to go through a lot of troubles.
I have loved this book, but I cannot give it 5 stars because there were lots of things that were quite predictable. I knew some of the things that were going to happen at the end right at the middle of the book. I didn't find that unexpected twist that I enjoy so much in books. It also had, in my opinion, some unnecessary bad language.
But the story is a very good one, and very clever. It is complex, with lots of characters, but it is not difficult to follow the course of action. I liked the story because I identified with the protagonist, Molly. It is the kind of story that makes you guess and wonder all the time, while you follow Molly in her quest of the truth. It is a thrilling story that will keep you hooked from the beginning to the end. I would like to see this book being turned into a film.

After a quiet, but interesting beginning things come to a head when we learn the details of Molly's connection to Amanda; it comes with a kick like a donkey, and brings everything into focus. From there the pace quickens with each character bringing their - sometimes suspicious agendas into the main plot - urging it, and me - forward.

I began by reading the sample version, which was quite long enough to convince me I had a `must read book' in my hands. Melissa has a very convincing writing voice, empathetic toward some complex players, like Molly - plagued by the past and the supernatural, Cole - her pragmatic and unyielding partner, and Tracey - a little girl lost. Jumping between them the plot flows and builds as it moves forward.

The way Pastor Lett developed in chapter nine gave extra mystery to the story, a mystery that continued to build until a web of intrigue had sprung up around several characters, thickening the plot even more and building up to a tense and exciting end to the main plot, and all the way to this end I was riveted - keen to read more.

In a small town such as Boyd you have 3 people who can "see things" that's quite a high percentage....and a little bit unrealistic! But it did make for quite a good story. I was waiting for the twist, the suspense, the plot we totally were not expecting but it never came!

I knew who the abductor was about half way through the book, I also guessed Hannah's secret way before it was revealed - and I'm still not sure what it brought to the story.

It was a good read, but an extra twist to the plot could have given it 4 stars instead of 3....
