5.0 out of 5 stars Great New Author 2 April 2003
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I have just finished Charming The Highlander, Janet Chapman is a great new author to watch for if you like time travel romances. Not quite in the same league as Lynn Kurland but in the same vein. The story of Grey and Grace takes you from 12th century Scotland to modern day North America and from a small plane crash to industrial spies, tied in with a destiny foretold romance. All in all a great book to while away a few evenings. Hope her next book fulfils the same standard as this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great New Author 30 Sep 2003
By Ms. C. M. Winton VINE™ VOICE
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This book is a great start for this new author. It's a timetravel romance but unlike authors like Lynn Kurland it does not center so much on the actual time traveling and the immediate ajustment of the characters to the time period. The main story starts years after Greylen Mackeage and a few of his soldiers are pulled forward intime.

A few years after his travel through time he mets Grace Sutter and her new baby on a plane flying home and as soon as he lays eyes on her he knows she is his. When the plane crashes Greylen must lead her to safety and Grace gives him her trust but when safe she wants to return to being on her own and independent but Greylen wont allow that.

They both have secrets to keep so can either one of them keep their secrets and thier hearts intact.

2.0 out of 5 stars Charming the Highlander 29 Nov 2011
By Joanne
Format:Kindle Edition
I liked the idea of the book: highlander, time travel, romance and snow (yes, I love snow) but unfortunately I found this story a bit of a miss. It starts off really sad with a death of a loved one and some really emotional scenes; if that is your sort of thing I think you will love this, but I read to escape the stress of real life. I found that it set the tone for the rest of the book. The story chugged along without engaging me and I was pleased to finally get to the end.

The part of the story that I think would have been interesting, the highlander finding himself in the future after time traveling and having to get used to a new way of living, wasn't described at all, which I found disappointing.
