After a year of bad press, Mariah has shut herself away recording her 12th album 'Charmbracelet' and shes delivered some great songs. Comeback single 'Through the rain' sets the pace of what to expect. Along the same lines are the beautiful ballad 'My saving grace' and a cover of Def Leppard's 'Bringing on the heartbreak'. Another standout track is the upbeat 'The one' featuring Jermaine Dupri. Out of the fifteen songs there is not one bad track. If you have ever been a fan of Mariah Carey's, ignore what you have read about her and judge for yourself with the music.

A very welcome comeback from the most successful female artist of the 90's! Although I am a huge fan of the diva, I have to admit Glitter failed to impress. But Charmbracelet has restored my faith in Mariah....well, almost! It did take awhile for me to really get into the album, which was never the case with pre-Glitter albums. But now there is not one song on the CD that I don't like. The highlights for me have to be Bringin' On The Heartbreak, My Saving Grace, Through The Rain and You Got Me, a selection representing both the old Mariah and the new. She evens manages to dig Eminem in Clown...listen to it and you'll see what I mean.

So now to the downside. As I've said, there are some really great songs on the CD. But Mariah's adopted a different style of singing in her last 2 /3 albums. She sings every song in a higher tone, all the way through. It's quite hard to explain but if you compare Charmbracelet to any of the earlier CDs you understand what I'm saying. It lacks the true strength and range of Mariah's voice. To be honest, listening to Vision of Love and Someday, then Through The Rain (or any other song on Charmbracelet) it really does sound like a completely different person.

But nevertheless, Mariah still has a truly unique voice and the album still reflects this. True, Charmbracelet isn't going to provide Mariah with any timeless classics, such as Hero, My All, Fantasy etc but it does make great listening and I would recommend any Mariah fan adds it to their collection. It is a fresh and well-awainted return and I predict that things are only going to get better!!

This album is truly unbelievable and well worth the wait. It has every thing from r'n'b, soul, hip hop to pop. It show's of her artistic excellence and creative diversity. There's is some thing for every one on this album and is a definite must have. This album will silence her critics. It's no wonder she's one of the world's greatest selling artist's.
