Product Description

Product Description
The tale of how a little girl named Fern, with the help of a friendly spider, saved her pig Wilbur from the usual fate of nice fat little pigs.

About the Author
E. B. White was born in New York in 1899 and died in 1985. He kept animals on his farm in Maine and some of these creatures crept into his books, such as STUART LITTLE which was recently made into a blockbusting film. He received many awards including the Laura Ingalls Wilder Medal in 1970, an award given every five years to authors who have 'made a substantial and lasting contribution to literature for children'.

5.0 out of 5 stars No Hogs here...., 28 Jun 2006

One of the best books ever written. If theres one book you must get your children to read, make it this. The ending is a testament to the author, for being very brave, and being able to pull it off with ease!

5.0 out of 5 stars Charlotte's Web, 27 Feb 2006
By Jacqui Binnie (Inverurie, Aberdeenshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
A wonderful story of a pig & a spider. It's all about friendship and the harsh realities of life. Poignant ending. I loved it as a child and my 9 and 5 year-old children loved it today!

4.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, 17 Oct 2006
By Kittykat (Brighton, UK) - See all my reviews
As a child I loved this book, the characters are wonderful especially Charlotte, for a childrens book it is full of depth but in easy to understand language, it is sad but it just makes the book more poignant and i love the way it does not shy away from reality.
