I have only recently discovered Martin, but now that I have my love for her music is already quite deeply ingrained within me. So, when I saw that she had released a DVD I was very excited. When I realised that it was a region 1 DVD, and that I would be unable to view it on my machine, I did feel disappointed but decided to buy it anyway because of the second disc which has b-sides. Although I cannot comment on the DVD (not unitl I get a region 1 compatible machine, anyway), I can say that the money you spend on this is worth it for the songs, if for nothing else.

All of the 8 songs are supposedly unreleased - although I also have her CD, VEINS, and that has anothert version of "Four Wall" on it. The listing for the songs is as follows:-
1. Genesis
2. Four Walls (funeral version)
3. Grave Clothes
4. Used Parts
5. So Schizo
6. Lost and Found
7. Overcome
8. Revival

My favourite of these is Four Walls. If you are able to hear the verison on the VEINS CD, do try as both are good in their own way. But I think the funeral version on this CD is much better - there is a darker mood to the song. It is so unlike any other songs by other artists that I defy any one not to like it.
"So Schizo" is another favourite of mine - the beginning of this track is delicate and filled with the vulnerability that Martin is great at conveying in her work, before taking on a different feel compeletly. The other notable tracks are "Lost and Found" and "Revival".

All in all, this a great addition to any fan - even if you haven't got the DVD player which allows you to watch the DVD!!

I bought this first time round when Charlotte Martin did a special release of the DVD. Now a year later it gets a proper release but with a b-sides disc.

The concert itself is a solo and intimate affair. Charlotte's presence live is fantastic - she can hit all kinds of notes, growl and go wild and yet the next line she is bringing you close to tears. Its an emotional ride. The concert was when "Veins" was released so don't expect any Stromata songs in the concert but the Stromata music video is added, as is a sassy commentary of random stuff by Charlotte and her photography lady Erin.

The bonus disc contains 8 songs including a new version of Four Walls. These songs are very good but also very b-sidey too in a way. There is a roughness to them with keeps in with the new album too which is nice. I can imagine many will rave over "Revival" which is the epic closer and reminds me a bit of "Roots" and "Something like a Hero".

All in all, I bought this twice essentially and I don't feel ripped off so then everyone should buy it once and feel good for it!
