It's difficult to know who this album is actually aimed at, as apart from from the theme tune and "The Bestest In The Barn", a great pop tune, this is incidental music from the series with extracts from the stories. That said, Charlie and Lola has some of the best incidental music around, ranging from pastiches of 60s instrumentals to what might be termed experimental jazz, so this is not simply muzak but quite challenging stuff.
Standout tracks are "Germs", "Lolaland" and "Sizzles" (which also features "The Dog's Pyjama party").
Don't buy this if you're looking for a conventional children's album. However if you want something a bit different which you can listen to as an adult, but which children will also like (mine does, and other reviews on here suggest she's not alone) then this is a worthwhile purchase. Just don't be surprised if your little ones start listening to Frank Zappa, the Art Ensemble of Chicago or tuning into Stuart Maconie's Freakzone when they're older!
