In 1970 a tiny baby called Moira, was taken away from her mother at birth, simply because her mother was single and "Of dubious and promiscuous character". As a result she spent her entire childhood in the care system, abused and abandoned many times.
The first five years of her life were blissful. Spent with a loving working class family, where she was known as Julie. Sadly this was not to last.
Although highly intelligent and showing great potential in subjects that interested her, she struggled at school with learning and behavioural difficulties - which today would be easily recognised as Aspergers, a form of mild autism. School wrote her off, ignoring her passions for the lunchtime photography club as well as creative writing.
Struggling to feel comfortable in her own skin, her teenage years were particularly painful. She spent many years in and out of residential homes where she became desperate to find love and instead found a chain of men who exploited her.
At 16 she left residential care and stepped out into the wide world with very little preparation. By the time she was 17 she had achieved her first goal of getting pregnant, without understanding what emotional let alone economic realities that would bring.
That was the point Charlie was befriended by an older woman who "took her under her wing" grooming her into street prostitution.
What follows is a journey of triumph over adversity. Charlie went "on the game" to be a good mother providing for her daughter and spent many years trying to get out - to become a better mother. Spending time in prison for a serious violent offence, as a result of over-defending herself, Charlie realised she had far more going on between her ears than her legs
- but would she be able to turn it all around?
Today Charlie is a successful business woman, award-winning, bestselling writer and now an outstanding female UK inspirational speaker at:

In a strange twist of fate, she also gives spiritual life guidance as a gifted Medium & Clairvoyant, via her "Down To Earth" page on Facebook, where she has numerous testimonials verified by her international clients listed there.
Oh, and despite early career advice also managed to become a member of The Royal Photographic Society as well as the winner of two Koestler Awards for short stories & poetry.
