There are many who consider Chaplin's 12 Mutual shorts to be his finest work. I wouldn't agree, but they are certainly some of the most perfect comedies ever made. The first BFI volume contains most of the best ones, but if you have that set, you'll want this one too, especially as it contains "The Pawnshop", which is hilarious from beginning to end, plus - for the first time in decades - the COMPLETE "One AM". The prints are superb and so are the Carl Davis scores, for the most part, although the music at the end of "The Count" is a curious misjudgement and rather spoils the fun. The DVD also contains an introduction to the films by Paul Merton. Mr Merton has done more than anyone in this country to promote interest in silent comedy and deserves some sort of medal for his efforts!
