1.0 out of 5 stars Too heavy for its content, 4 Oct 1999
This review is from: Charlie Calvert's Borland C++ Builder 3 Unleashed (Paperback)
This book could be easily reduced to 1/3 of its size or more. Too much 'As I told you before ...', then the same thing again, or as a grey note with bold letters, and then phrased otherwise. You can easily locate entire pages that mention only one simple thing, that could be said clearly in one sentence. I found it very tiring to read this book, almost impossible. Every piece of code is repeated 2 times; once as a whole and each function again when commented. If you want clearly writen technical books, this is not a book for you. In fact, I haven't yet understood if the book is for novice or experienced programmers. I think it leaves both unsatisfied. I will certainly search for another book on the subject by another writter with technical writing skills.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome book, 22 Jun 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Charlie Calvert's Borland C++ Builder 3 Unleashed (Paperback)
A book which I (and others in my workplace) have used extensively in the development of several projects to date. This IS the C++ Builder bible. The only gripe is that the book is so desirable it's often missing from my bookshelf...
