Product Description

Fitness trainer Dee Thresher puts Charlie Brooks through her paces in this keep-fit guide. Starting with a warm-up, the guide goes on to demonstrate moves based around disco, combat, high intensity, and a Pilates cool down.

From Amazon.co.uk

One of the most acclaimed celebrity fitness DVDs of recent times, Charlie Brooks’ Before And After Workout finds fitness trainer Dee Thresher putting the former soap star through her paces with a series of five ten minute workouts.

Brooks herself claims to have lost a couple of stone using the routines on the disc already, and it’s easy to believe why. And rather than, as some in the genre choose to do, focusing heavily on the celebrity, this fitness discs puts its firm emphasis on the workout routines. They’re explained clearly, are straightforward to follow, and there’s enough variety to ensure you don’t get bored.

The routines are of varying difficulty, and unless you’re already fighting fit, it’s feasible that you’ll have some trouble with them in the early days. But then that’s the point. And because none of the workouts outstay their welcome, there’s little reason not to stay motivated. Sure, you’ll end up working hard, but there’s nothing on this disc that outstays its welcome.

It’s surprising perhaps to find a fitness DVD that has earned such acclaim, but having followed Charlie Brooks’ Before And After Workout through, the plaudits are well deserved. So if you’ve ever been frustrated by a celebrity workout disc that’s proven to be more about the former than the latter, then this will be a very welcome treat.--Ann Foster

I happened on this page looking for something completely different! I have had this DVD for years, and I have to say of all the different fitness DVD's I have had - this is the one I took to and saw good results with. I went from being breathless walking up the stairs to running a mile round trip in no time without any shortness of breath. I actually became slender! Although of course weightloss is only successful with a combination of exercise AND healthy eating. It is enjoyable and doesn't take long to get into the swing of the exercises. I have have many DVD's/Videos (remember them?!) and got rid of all of them after fruitless attemps at even trying to master the moves, never mind enjoy them. This is the one I keep coming back to always.

It's in sections so you can chose which segments you wish to do.
It makes you sweat& your heart pumping
There is a warm up and cool down
Fairly easy moves
You don't need equipment

Negatives:
Repetive
It gets boring if you're doing it everyday
I don't like the disco section, i find it boring
The music is boring, i always put my own music on and follow the dvd without sound on.

This is a great workout (and tough) for those of you who want to get in shape or stay in shape. I first tried this after doing "Janice" from Corrie (vicky entwhistles weight off workout)which I had done for a year. This compared to Vicky's was was too much for me at first very dance movey and lots of steps that overwhelmed me. However once I did it a few times the hard moves became as easy to master as Vicky and this workout is more intense with a much much harder stomach section and a great kickboxing style section. The disco bit often bores me but between the two workouts they differ enough so I don't get bored and I always like to do this video. It's very "girly" too with union jack fridge and a Pink lit mirror / the girls wear pink accents but make no mistake it's a good workout. I continue to lose weight by doing this three times a week and eating sensibly. If you get it for a fiver you're laughing and you won't be sorry you tried it.

Has this DVD a few years back an lost 2 stone so ordered it again after moving house and loosing my old copy. Doesn't feel like exercise as it's that fun an there's a lot of variety so there's something for everyone.

bought this to shake up my fitness routine a bit and do something new. whilst in places some of the steps are a bit tricky to start as its hand/feet co-ordination, you soon pick it up. i go to the gym four times a week so for me this wasn't too strenuous. ideal for an hour of getting up off the sofa and being active but certainly didn't leave me gasping for breathe. ok, but its not the first fitness dvd i reach for when at home

I love this DVD it is easy to follow and in several sections so you can mix and match. This is the second time I have bought this as I misplaced the first disc. I tried several other fitness DVDs but came back to this one.
