Charles Jacobs Powerful 2.0L Whole Fruit Juicer Compact 850W Power 2011
The delivery of this item was fairly prompt and the product was well packaged. Upon opening the box we found that it came with everything except specific 12 month warranty details.
The introduction page of the instruction booklet was hilarious. It read like a bad, computerised translation and made very little sense.
After setting it up we could not get it to work. A quick message to the seller, Bennetts, and we were told that the side clamps had to be fully pressed in at the bottom sides also - Once both ends were clamped in correctly the juicer would work. The clamps are part of the safety system and prevent operation if they are not locked properly. So we did it and it worked! Bennetts customer service was excellent. We were very impressed.
The juicer itself is very big and sturdy. The black and brushed silver casing makes it look very nice on the worktop. The rubber feet on the juicer's base adhere to the worktop, ensuring the unit does not move during operation.
This juicer works really well. The two speed settings ensure that we can juice everything we want to; carrots, pears, bananas, apples, cucumber, parsnips and peppers, just to name a few. We placed a small plastic bag into the pulp container to collect the pulp, which was very effective and cut down the amount to wash.
There are five parts on the unit that are removable for cleaning, plus the large juice container. All the removable parts are quite large; there are no small, bitsy pieces, therefore, cleaning is very simple.
It is easy to waste very little of the end products of juicing. For example, we use the vegetable pulp as a base for soup, and compost the rest.
Overall, we are impressed by the performance of this juicer and would recommend it.

After two years of everyday use my Philips HR1861 Juicer packed in and I decided to replace it with this one. First the positives. The price is excellent, half the price of the Philips. It is also very sturdy. One of the things I didn't like about the Philips was that it was fairly light and you had to hold it down with one hand while juicing because it wouldn't stay still on the kitchen counter. That isn't an issue with the Charles Jacobs. Its heavy and has rubber suckers on the bottom to ensure it stays in one place.
As for the negatives, you definitely don't get as much juice from the Charles Jacobs as you do from the philips. It is also more fiddly to put together. All in all, a good juicer for the price, but when this one packs in I'll be going back to the Philips.

Superb - it juices everything I could not have asked for more and the price is fantastic. Haven't stopped juicing since it arrived last week - its changed my life!!!
