3 words: Oh. My. God.
I wasn't a fan of One Tree Hill (OTH), but my cousin introduced me to Gavin's debut single, 'I dont want to be' (as well as getting me into OTH!) and it completely blew me away. It was fantastic. He is kind of like Daniel Powter... although better, and I didnt think that was possible.
Gavin is a singer/songwriter/keyboardist/guitarist and has such amazing talent, he is really underrated, and deserves MUCH more attention and hype than he gets.
A rundown of the album:
1) Follow Through - A relaxed tune that will have you singing in no time. Very catchy and will definately find itself on 'repeat'!
2) Chariot - This is the one I've played most. From start to finish it is fantastic. The lyrics are outstanding, and you may find you can relate to some ("Your favourite fruit is chocolate covered cherries")
3) Just Friends - My personal favourite on the album. Although I'm not sure if it's based on a true story of Gavin's past or not, but it is about him trusting his girlfriend who must of claimed she wasnt cheating on him and was "Just Friends" with another guy, but now Gavin can see the truth.
4) (Nice to Meet You) Anyway - Most likely the one that will stick in your head, and I found it made me want to listen to the whole album more.
5) Slightly more "rock"-y than other tracks, but still great all the same. You'll notice yourself singing along, even if you're trying hard not to do!
6) Belief - Starts off slow and quiet but with great sound effects (listen for them) and breaks into a song that really IS music to my ears! It's amazing, I hope it's released as a single.

I recieved Gavid DeGraw's album as a christmas present this year, as I was, as many of the other reviews have mentioned, quite taken with the track "I don't wanna be", the theme tune for the t.v. programme "One Tree Hill". I was quite worried that the album would not live up to this track but I needn't have been. This is just one of many fantastic tracks on the album that are beautifully written and performed. I intended to listen to a snippet of each track to get a feel for the album but I ended up listening to the whole thing from start to finish, as there was not one track I wanted to skip. I would recommend this album to anyone who enjoys that theme tune to "One Tree Hill" or even just anyone who enjoys soft rock music with a touch of soul. I would describe Gavin DeGraw's music as a blend of Maroon 5, Jamie Cullum with a hint more rock. Buy it if you like good music!

First heard "I dont want to be" on One Tree Hill, loved it straight away. Decided to look him up on amazon and found the cd "Chariot". I was so glad I decided to go for the album I listened to it right through from start to finish and loved every song especially, "Follow Through, Just Friends, I Dont want to be, and Over-rated". Its also great because it has the words on the inside of the cover which I love cos it just gives you a helping hand to get to know the song faster, although my 2 year old daughter cant read yet and she seems to have picked up the words no problem, that just shows how much I listen to it. She even gives a round of applause after every song, I think she loves it just as much as me. Cant wait til he is released in the UK, if he goes on tour here I will be first in queue for tickets for anywhere.

I had never heard of Gavin DeGraw until I heard "Follow Through" in a supermarket. On the basis of that one track I got the album and I don't think I've gone a day without playing at least once (and that was nearly 2 months ago now). The stand out tracks for me are "Follow Through," "Chariot," "I don't want to be" and "Overrated" although to be honest there isn't a single dud track on the album. Gavin DeGraw has a real raw soulful voice which comes out superbly on the Stripped CD - even more so than on CD1, if that's possible. Definitely the absolute best CD I've bought in ages. Everybody should have a copy!!

If your into maroon 5 you'll love gavin degraw. In fact if you like any sort of music you'll love it. It's a great mix of upbeat and slower more heart felt songs.
I advise buying this version with the bonus cd because then when your sister wants to borrow it you can lend one to her.
Both are just as good. The second being recorded live and with an extra track pulls it even with the brilliant first.
The energy put into it means that when you listen to it your feet will start to move and you find yourself singing along to some quality music.
So what are you waiting for.. BUY IT! BUY IT NOW!

What a great CD, only just heard about Gavin by hearing "I Don't Want To Be" on an internet radio station. Loved that song, so decided to check into it further on amazon and check out some of the other single's. I wasn't dissapointed, every track is fantastic! It provides great background music and easy listening as I would describe it as soft rock.

I have to admit the first time i heard anything but gavin was the theme song for the tv show one tree hill. i really like it and thought id check out the album and see if it lived up to my expectations. What i got was an album that blew me away. with a mix of soft ballads and rocky tracks this have now been played in my stereo to the point of wearing it out. this have got to be on of my favourite albums and i recomment it to anyone that has any real music taste.
