My 8 year old loved this and started adding in details straight away, as there are blank pages included as well as pages to enter details about yourself. The only disappointment was that the pen wouldn't work on other paper, but only in the pad itself. The children love using the torch to see what has been written and using the lock and key - however the keys don't attach anywhere so could easily get mislaid! I don't know how long this toy will last, but it has been good fun so far!
