I have seen some poor quality toys in my life but none has ever left me compelled to write a review on Christmas day. It has been 2 hours since our 4 year old opened the toy & despite several attempts by both i & his Grandfather the toy remains in several pieces. The build quality is like a 1970's Skoda, actually its not even that good. Every time one piece is put in place another piece falls apart, £40 quid for this is a complete & utter joke, having said that the frustration this toy causes means even 99p would be too expensive. My advice to anyone thinking about buying this is plain & simple DONT!!!!, however if you choose to ignore this advice make sure you buy some glue to go with it.

My five year old daughter is nuts about Scooby and she has most of the toys. The mystery machine and the various figures are pretty good value and durable but this is something else.

It looks the part and has a dozen different features that she loves to mess around with but the build quality is just terrible. It costs forty pounds and for that you would expect something more hard wearing than this.

When folding the house shut it doesn't stay shut as there is no latch to hold it together. Also, the stairs are kinda awkward to get in there but I have found they will balance on their side and tuck in by the revolving bookcase. The floors are not made of cardboard as stated in a previous reveiw, the roof is. Having said that the card is reinforced with plastic and does not seem particularly flimsy.

The problems we have had is with the joins of the various sections, the hinged area is forever popping out and the rood often detaches from the rest of the house. The various traps are simply falling apart or inoperative.

It is such a shame as my daughter loves this and it could have been so much better. Luckily it was a gift, I would not have spend the money on it myself.

My son loves playing with the house. Although I am very disappointed in the quality and durability. For £40 you would expect something that would last longer than 2 months! The house keeps falling apart (I am forever rebuilding it) and the inside floor of house is made of cardbard which inevitablely is getting torn. Its such a shame of how "cheaply" it has been made as it could be so good.

I'd agree with one of the current reviews, this is simply too flimsy. It's lasted quite well but has more damage and missing bits than I'd like. It's difficult to fold shut because theres no clear place to put the staircase. The spider web no longer attaches and one of the trapdoors is broken.

My son is very careful with his toys and has enjoyed this but he gets frustrated when it falls apart.

My four year old got this for her birthday, can honestly say it is the worst toy she has ever had. It constantly falls apart and has to be put together again which is no easy task. if it wasnt for the fact she is a huge scooby doo fan i would of put in the bin by now.

The most disappointing toy ever bought. Took forever to put together then it kept falling apart. Strongly advise not to buythis product.

As other reviews have said, this is terribly made. It just keeps falling apart, the pieces don't stay where they should. My sons broke a part within the first hour of playing with it. Thankfully they are not Scooby Doo fans so don't play with it much. I just bought this because it was half price, but its not even worth that. Its utterly pointless as I have to join in playing with them because all the bits keep falling off - its good if you are looking for a construction toy! But I don't think that was the manufacturers intent! It doesn't close properly either - there is no catch to secure the two halves together so have to be careful moving it. There is not anywhere really obvious to store the staircase when you want it closed either, although I have managed to find a way, but a child couldnt do it. They should take this toy off the market and redesign it, its terrible.

My son's eyes lit up when he received the Scooby Doo Mystery Mansion, especially as he'd gone on about it for ages. However, because it is based on the rather addictive cartoon series, children love to play with it a lot and quite frankly the build quality isn't up to it. After two days the trap door wouldn't work. I contacted where I purchased it from and they said that only a faulty model would be replaced and as I couldn't proove that my son hadn't "worn and torn" it in that short space of time, they couldn't help me further. Then the knight stopped raising his hands - again only through being played with. Before long, most of the mansion's traps and bits were falling apart each time it was played with and the actual casing was breaking apart each time it was lifted up.

Sadly, I cringe when my son wants to get it out of the cupboard to play with it again, as I spend so long having to reassemble it each time. It's hugely overpriced considering it's inferior construction. Also, despite getting a van with our model there were no figures included, so that was another twenty quid on them.

Children will find this product fun. However, children have huge imaginations and with it they need a product which is robust enough to act it out. Unfortunately this doesn't fall into that category and will not stand up to the test of time. In fact, ours didn't stand up to much after a couple of weeks of play.

I wouldn't recommend buying this product unless it was heavily discounted. Even then be prepared to spend most of your time reassembling it.

My son gets a lot more use out of the large Scooby Doo Mystery van, which in comparison is very well made.
