Bought this for my nephew's 5th birthday. He loved it! Not very substansial in terms of potential durability, but he was very happy and that was the main thing. It took a wee while to construct and he was lucky that he had 5" figures already that he could use. It would have been good if there was a figure included as well given the price.

We bought this toy as our son (8) is a huge Doctor Who fan. I wasn't very impressed with the old tardis playset but the design of the new one is a lot better. Not as difficult to put together- but still rather difficult!! And a lot more durable. He has been playing with it a lot and joining it to the old playset too. So it is fun and switches his imagination on. So I am happy but a bit expensive for what it is. I think £25-£30 would be a fair price for it.

We bought this for our son, who is 8, and he is absolutely delighted with it! Although it doesn't have flashing lights or sounds, it is a great toy for him to use his imagination with. It is very robust and I think he will get a lot of fun out of it. If you're an avid Dr Who fan or know someone who is, it is well worth it!

My 8 year old granddaughter assures me the setup and console is very authentic! The structure is fiddly to put together, but the main plastic parts are fairly secure. I have doubts whether the cardboard surround will stand the test of time though. Apart from the hanging swing and separate chair there are no moving parts. Overall it's a good setting for the separate action figures. Be wary of ordering this through Amazon though, as this was despatched by Amazon.eu with no packaging whatsoever, the address label was stuck directly onto the box itself, which obviously arrived damaged. This was returned to Amazon with no fuss at all and I got a swift refund - but if you're ordering for Christmas or a birthday allow plenty of time in case a replacement is needed.

This was at the top of my 9 year old son's Christmas list - but it is quite disappointing! It is not at all sturdy and I have had to warn my son to be careful when he plays with it as it may fall apart! It took quite a while to assemble too. I think it is poor value for money.

OK, it may be largely down to the fact that the previous TARDIS play set was a near masterpiece, capturing the details of the TARDIS perfectly and with fun lights and sounds, but either way this version is nothing but a pure disappointment.

To start off with, the detail it has is pretty good; the fact that it has two floors is a nice feature and the console is also very well detailed.

But I hate to say, that's about it. Most of the walls are cardboard and the plastic used on most other parts is flimsy and could easily become broken. The door is just a printed image, unlike the previous version that actually opened. Worst of all, there are no lights or sounds on it. Yet I still had to pay the full *takes a deep breath* £39.99 for it....
I would think they could have also included some figures to make for all this, but no.

All in all, this looks like the sort of thing you could make at home using plans from Blue Peter....

Thankfully though, this seems to have been reduced in quite a lot of places, so it's worth getting it for £20 (even though it probably ought to have been sold for that amount in the first place....)

Didn't want to buy this for Xmas for my kid as had read several negative reviews. However, kids are not adults and don't look at things the same way we do. So bought it anyway and my son loves it. He is a Dr Who freak mind you.
