I have a bird feeder outside my window but my little mob kept bickering as to who would get to feed, so I buy this product to help ease the fighting, and it worked they love it. And the coconut shell can be reused as now i buy the suet blocks for the birds and fill the coconut with half of it, so for the same price the little ones get two meals.

I bought this and hung it up with the suet balls, but interesting enough, only the starlings seem to take an interest here (sparrows only wanted the suet balls).
Just be careful in very hot weather, as the contents tend to melt and you end up with a sticky glob on the ground.
Good news is that soon disappears, as our feathery pals tuck in.
Also highly recommend the dried mealworm tub you can buy from Amazon.

The birds eat it rapidly so they obviously enjoy it, and I have had many other different bird come to eat it. The most surprising one were a family of starlings - Mum, Dad and 5 juvenile's who came twice daily for the past week. Many differing finches now also come to my feeding tree for longer.
So thank you Chapelwood for enabling me to enjoy the birds feed.

Full of seeds and mealyworms even the sparrows hung on it to feast. We have now filled it again with melted fat and the wild bird seed mix.

I purchased Chapelwood Half Coconut Bird Suet Treat with Mealworms to hang from my tree for the birds who devoured the mealworms sprinkled in the top of the shell. They love those but took some days before using it and still seem to prefer the one I bought from a supermarket chain! Sadly the whole thing fell out of the shell by the 5th day which meant all the big birds got at it and the little ones didn't get a look in! The string at the top of the shell is a LOT shorter than depicted so quite tricky to feed over a branch sturdy enough to hold the weight of the treat and any bird that perches on it! One of the regular magpies takes great delight in hanging from the side to dig little holes in the suet and shout at the the little birds that sneak underneath and pinch the seeds as they drop before he chases them away! I moved the treat it into a niche in the tree where hopefully the small birds will get more of a chance! Only 3 stars as disappointed that the whole filling fell out - I purchased two so will see how well the second one lasts!

I love watching the birds through my window and this time of year the families arrive so at the moment I am putting so much out for them it is costing a fortune but the smaller birds love these coconut treats. However, the larger ones have found out how to knock them off to the ground and they are gone within minutes!
