The only pity is that some of the aggressiveness of the guitar parts might have been lost, because their only guitarist played alone in concert... Otherwise, the mix is good.
The first track gets you into what I really consider Channel Zero to be (or have been), i.e. a melody-oriented full-strength metal band, basing their play on crunchy power chords and ripping riffs, alternating calm and energetic parts. Still they managed not to sell out and keep their original metal spirit throughout their existence. Therefore you can listen to this album without having the feeling of already knowing it from something else.
The following songs are like anthems to me (and to the public too - if you listen carefully, you can hear people singing along) because the band was really big at that time around here.
I was no big fan of them, until I saw them live. I hope you'll be one too, after you listen to the record.
