This packs a punch 9 May 2005

From Channel U comes this hard hitting compilation featuring the best of the best of Hip Hop MCs and Vocalists on the UK urban music scene. For those who don't know, Channel U is available on the sky digital platform in the UK and it prides itself on supporting UK talents (over their American counterparts) as opposed to the all American music videos dominated MTV Base. Gems on this compilation include 'Pow (forward)', a number 3 debut in the UK top 40 late last year; the exclusive 'Get out my House' by the critically acclaimed Brit Award Winner Mike Skinner aka The Streets feat. Kano and others; Young Pro's 'It's a Rap' and 'Brave and Bold' by The Extremist. Also check out 'Been around the world' by Zena (she used to be the forth member of Mis-teeq but went solo) and produced by C 'Tricky' Stewart (Blu Cantrell, Mya); the thought-provoking 'Free' by Estelle (John Legend made an appearance at the end of the track); Mark Morrison's comeback single 'Just a Man' and the fast paced rhyming of Shystie and Lady Sovereign on Juice and A lil bit of Shhh respectively. As an added bonus, there is an extra DVD that features videos of the tracks on the compilation. For those who want a taste of what life is like in the inner city estates of the UK or what UK 'eye-candies' look like, this is a great opportunity. Overall very highly recommended
